Many track athletes have returned and have their eyes on State, while the new comers are working hard to make their way on the varsity team. The Tri-Valley track and field team began their first practice with a great start. The team is looking forward to their first meet on March 31 at USF.

One of these returning track members is Brenton Hanisch. He is a senior this year who has been a part of track for six years. “I have the need, the need for speed,” commented Hanisch. Hanisch runs the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and the 4x200m. “Being able to run with my teammates,” said Hanisch, “is one of my most treasured accomplishments in track.”

Looking at the competition for this season, it will be as competitive as always. Some of these teams are Baltic, West Central, and Dell Rapids. Other than the competitiveness, Hanisch is very confident that Tri-Valley will bring some great athletes to state this year that will be held in Sioux Falls at Howard Wood Field on May 27-28.
